Akera Keith is the Founder and Executive Director of Keak Youth Skilling Center Uganda (KYSCU), an organisation established to address youth unemployment and limited access to practical skills and economic opportunities in Uganda.
He is a Ugandan professional with more than a decade of experience spanning public-sector compliance, banking, risk management, governance, records and information management, and organisational development. He previously worked in banking and public-sector institutions, where he gained experience in regulatory compliance, internal controls, risk assessment, reviews, governance systems and organisational processes.
Akera holds a Bachelor’s degree in Records and Archives Management from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Uganda Management Institute, and a Diploma in Theology from African Bible University. His professional development has also included training in risk management, compliance and integrity systems.
His interest in youth development is rooted in his long-standing involvement in community and youth initiatives. Through KYSCU, he is working to develop practical pathways that enable young people to acquire marketable skills, gain experience, create enterprises, access employment and build sustainable livelihoods.
As Founder and Executive Director, Akera provides strategic leadership for KYSCU’s vision, partnerships, programmes, governance and organisational development.
